Using IDAS1 to Investigate the Effects of Artificial Fed or Fasted Intestinal fluids on Tablet Dissolution and Drug Absorption
Many drugs show different pharmacokinetic performance when they are administered either pre or post-prandially. Such differences can arise from altered dissolution of the dose form or altered permeation of the active ingredient. Absorption Systems has used its IDAS1 system to investigate a set of well-known drugs and shown that the IDAS1 system can discriminate between dissolution differences and permeation differences in vitro by simultaneously measuring dissolution and absorption rates.
