Ex vivo intestinal tissue permeability study isolating viable, transplant quality tissues and performing mechanistic elucidation studies
What Absorption Systems Does:
Determine if a compound is being metabolized in a specific tissue segment.
Design studies to identify active or passive transport and transporter mechanisms.
Assess formulations that would be representative of in vivo formulations.
How does this study work?
Once a tissue donor is identified, during the process of harvesting transplant tissues, Absorption Systems is notified that non-transplant (intestinal, nasal, buccal, vaginal, transdermal) tissues are available.
Tissues arrives in the lab within 12 hours and the experiments are executed.
Protocols are in place to ensure the viability and integrity of the tissues.
Test articles are co-dosed with control test articles
– high and low
– atenolol and antipyrine
We utilize horizontal and vertical using chambers and Franz diffusion cells.
