Chris Bode, Ph.D.
Dr. Bode’s role is to capture and disseminate the mission and messages of Absorption Systems to the world. He has been with the company since 2006. Working at the interface between science and marketing, Dr. Bode creates and optimizes content for both functions. He sees his job as “translating what the company is doing in the lab into language that our customers can understand and our sales team can sell.” Dr. Bode is responsible for public relations, including press releases, industry white papers, blogging and media outreach. He enjoys lecturing on ADME to undergraduate and postgraduate college students.
Prior to Absorption Systems, Dr. Bode spent seventeen years in and around the pharmaceutical industry, working on both pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Most recently, he was VP of Operations for Tissue Transformation Technologies, a leading provider of tissue-based in vitro reagents for drug metabolism studies. Dr. Bode’s Ph.D. in pharmacology is from the University of Colorado, although most of his research was performed at the University of Pennsylvania after his thesis lab moved there. In his postdoctoral research at UC San Diego, he began the work on cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterases that continued in his first pharmaceutical industry position.
