Welcome! You must be here because you’ve heard the buzz about CPT-B1, the first of the CellPort Technologies® cell lines from Absorption Systems. Hopefully you will learn all you want to know about CPT-B1 on this page, but if not please contact Absorption Systems and we’ll be happy to help. Check back often…we will continue to post the latest information on this and other CellPort Technologies cell lines.

You may be aware that, prior to the introduction of CPT-B1, there was an unmet need for a definitive human BCRP assay system. Researchers all over the world are jumping on the bandwagon.
We created CPT-B1 by using RNA interference to knock down the expression of BCRP in a stable clone of human Caco-2 cells. Go to our Literature page to see posters that we presented on this topic at various scientific meetings. One poster was also presented as an assay tutorial in the February 15, 2008 issue of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology News (GEN).
Based on quantitative PCR, expression of BCRP mRNA in CPT-B1 is reduced greater than 90% relative to control cells:
BCRP function is also greatly reduced:
We use CPT-B1 in two different applications:
Features of CellPort pgp:
