Ocular PK and Biodistribution

Don't Try to Infer PK from an Efficacy Study. . . Let Absorption Systems Measure It

Absorption Systems offers in vivo ocular PK studies in large and small animals, including distribution among various ocular tissues (aqueous humor, vitreous humor, retina, iris/ciliary body, etc.).

As an example, the ophthalmic drug timolol demonstrates significant accumulation in the aqueous humor and a measurable concentration in the retina within 30 minutes of topical administration to New Zealand White (NZW) rabbits. Many other dose routes are possible, from oral to intravenous to specialized ophthalmic routes such as subconjunctival and intravitreal.
