Absorption Systems has an extensive database of excipients and dose vehicles suitable for different classes of compounds, different dose routes and based on the preclinical species. This allows us to rapidly identify a suitable dose vehicle to perform your early proof of concept and discovery PK studies and enable quick progression of your leads.

We have been performing PK studies for over 14 years; nearly fifty percent of our business is dedicated to small and large animal studies every year. This experience allows us to rapidly identify optimal dose vehicles thereby reducing cost and timelines and helping you meet your drug discovery milestones.

While many advances have been made in formulating clinical dosages for humans, fewer address the formulation issues in preclinical studies. For early discovery PK screening and proof of concept (POC) studies an optimal dose vehicle suitable for an entire series of compounds within a discovery project should be identified for unbiased comparison and to minimize impact of vehicle on the PK profiles. Although solution formulation is not always possible for all compounds in a series it is important to develop a robust vehicle that has broad applicability.
