Absorption Systems is seeking to fill an entry-level laboratory-based position focusing on the biophysical characterization of biological molecules such as peptides, polypeptides, proteins, protein conjugates and vaccines. Technologies used within the laboratory include UV/CD/Fluorescence Spectroscopy, Light Scattering, Differential Scanning Calorimetry and HPLC. The successful candidate will have scientific training in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, physical chemistry, chemical engineering, or pharmaceutical sciences. This is a hands-on position so excellent laboratory skills are required. Familiarity with scientific computer applications and spreadsheet/algorithm development would be advantageous.
The position requires a B.S. or MS degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, pharmaceutics, or a related discipline. in vitro drug metabolism group.
Responsibilities:
Conduct
in vitro ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion) studies including:
- Metabolic stability and intrinsic clearance in human/animal tissue fractions (microsomes, S9 fractions, plasma, blood, hepatocytes, etc.)
- Plasma protein binding and blood partitioning
- Enzyme (CYP, UGT, FMO, MAO, etc) inhibition and phenotyping using human/animal tissue fractions and recombinant enzymes
- CYP enzyme induction
- Biological sample preparation for metabolite ID and metabolite profiling, and other assays.
Perform experiments in full compliance of SOP and protocols.
Maintain lab work-record, calibration of small lab equipment, and reagent/chemical inventory.
Process experimental data and prepare study reports.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a BS, MS, or PhD degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, or Biology with 0 to 3 years of relevant industrial or academic experience.
Good oral communication and scientific writing skills, excellent interpersonal skills to be able to work in a team setting and strong computer skills required.

Bioanalytical Scientist
Headquarters: Exton, PAAbsorption Systems is a Contract Research Organization located in Exton, Pennsylvania and is currently seeking a Bioanalytical Scientist to develop and implement quantitative LC-MS/MS methods in support of both in-vitro ADME and in-vivo pharmacokinetic studies.
Responsibilities will include the development of analytical methods for the determination of small molecules in buffers and complex biological matrices, preparation of samples for analysis, data processing/interpretation, some report writing, or other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or study director. Other responsibilities will include:
- Conducting studies according to appropriate study protocols/plans
- Maintain documentation for all areas of study
- Perform duties in a timely manner to meet customer needs
- Follow all appropriate SOPs
- Conduct routine maintenance of the LC-MS
The successful candidate will have a Bachelors of Science or Masters of Science in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field with 2 - 5 years of experience. Candidate must have strong communication skills to help coordinate studies across a range of scientific groups within the company. Experience with Sciex mass spectrometers and Analyst software is a plus. Experience with Agilent ChemStation software is also desirable.

Protein Formulation Scientist
Headquarters: Exton, PAAbsorption Systems is seeking a laboratory scientist with experience in protein formulation. The successful candidate will assist in developing preformulation strategies and participate in the characterization of protein formulations. As such, the incumbent should have an understanding of protein behavior in liquid formulations and the biophysical techniques used to study protein formulations (i.e., UV/CD/Fluorescence Spectroscopy, Light Scattering, and DSC). This is a hands-on position so excellent laboratory skills are required. Familiarity with protein analysis by HPLC, high-through put automation, and complex spreadsheet/algorithm development would be advantageous.
The position requires a B.S. degree in biochemistry, pharmaceutics, or a related discipline with 2-6 years of relevant laboratory experiences or an M.S. degree in a similar discipline with 0-4 years of relevant laboratory experience. Research Technician
San Diego, CANeeded to perform technical support, or serve as lead technician, on in-vivo studies to support medical device and drug development. Manage study scheduling. Maintain documentation of test article usage. Maintain documentation on laboratory instrumentation and data collection. Assist with protocol and report writing. Prepares sample and other shipments. Assist with study set-up. Work directly with test systems for in-vivo studies. Perform data entry functions. Perform other duties as directed by management.
The ideal candidate will have an Undergraduate degree (Associates or Bachelors) in a science related discipline and 1 to 2 years experience preferred. High school degree required. AALAS and/or ASR certification highly desirable. Experience in ocular disease models and/or ophthalmology highly desirable.
Must have Excellent written and oral communication skills. Be a self motivated individual with the ability to perform tasks independently with minimal supervision. Have the ability to understand basic principles of in vivo research studies for medical device and drug development and must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Associate Business Development Representative

The Associate Business Development Representative will facilitate and initiate customer interactions, which lead to proposals and projects specifically related to medical device research.
The Associate Business Development Representative will perform, but not be limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:

Perform web and other searches to identify target companies
- mine internet sites and other sources for customer and contact information
- manage leads and contacts in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database
- develop call scripts for various target customers
- cold call prospective customers and schedule appointments
- attend tradeshow and meetings as a primary interface with customers
- present capabilities via PowerPoint presentations
follow up with customer requests for information- draft quotes and scopes of work
- maintain data for reporting sales funnel
- interact with scientific personnel to gain a full understanding of study design and customer requirements
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline, minimum 2 years experience in a science related field is preferred.
